FREE BEE SWARM REMOVAL

(I service locations in and around Pueblo)

Call Ross as soon as you see the swarm. We do our best to arrive within an hour as swarms are looking for a permanent home and we don't want that to be someones house.

WHAT IS A SWARM?

A ball of bees hanging in a tree or other object that is totally exposed.

If they are going in and out of a small opening that is an established colony not a swarm.

WHY SWARM?
It's the season to reproduce and our helpful little pollinators are ready to go. Honey Bee colonies will "split" usually beginning in April. Splitting is their way of reproduction. To do this the colony will raise a second queen to leave with about half of the colony to find a home and build a healthy, strong colony elsewhere. BOOM...now there are two colonies where there used to be one.

ARE SWARMS DANGEROUS?
Not at all. Bees that swarm are quite docile. They are homeless and happy to find a home even if it is a beekeeper putting them in a man made beehive. The ball of bees we refer to as, the swarm, is simply grouping around the queen to protect her while the scout bees are out house hunting (or apartment shopping).

DO NOT SPRAY ANY BEES: SWARM OR HIVE: OUTSIDE OR IN A HOUSE:
Spraying a colony of honey bees, especially a well established hive, will not kill the hive. A colony of honey bees can number 50,000-80,000, not including unhatched brood (babies).

WHAT IT WILL DO:

Kill some bees

Toxify the comb/honey/food stores/colony

Create problems that could spread to other colonies, etc.

Killing the bees also leaves comb, honey, and propolis to melt in your walls inviting pests, smells, stains, etc.

Still requires dismantling to clean up the mess.

Doubles the cost because there are no useable bees or other items to help offset the costs of removal.

SAVE THE BEES AND DON'T SPRAY.
